Mayor of Drammen Municipality visits Leicester

On 26 September 2016 MBCOL Chair Suleman Nagdi was pleased to welcome to Leicester Tore Opdal Hansen, Mayor of Drammen Municipality, Norway. Mr Hansen was accompanied by over 20 delegates amongst whom were politicians, city planners and heads of services of the Drammen municipality. We previously welcomed Mr Hansen to Leicester eight years ago when he came to view our practices and work surrounding death and bereavement and took the lessons learnt back to Norway.
The meeting mostly took place at the City Hall in Leicester and we had the opportunity to share the continued good work done by MBCOL. We also had the opportunity to distribute our publication ‘Discovering Through Death’ which the delegation found interesting and were grateful to receive copies to take back home to Norway. We are grateful to St Philip’s Centre and the City and County Councils for their role in helping facilitate the visit and by extending their warm hospitality to our European friends.
