A Visit to Gardens of Peace: A Step Towards Serving Our Community

Members of the Muslim Burial Council of Leicestershire (MBCOL) were privileged to visit the renowned Gardens of Peace Muslim cemetery in Ilford. The purpose of our visit was to gain a deeper, practical understanding of the processes involved in establishing and managing a private cemetery dedicated to serving the Muslim community. We were graciously hosted by Brother Mohamed Omar, whose remarkable knowledge and extensive experience in this field proved to be an invaluable resource. He guided us through the intricate journey of creating such a vital community institution, from initial conception to ongoing management. The visit provided crucial insights into the potential challenges we may face, as well as the profound benefits that a dedicated Muslim cemetery can bring. We pray that Almighty Allah rewards Brother Mohamed and his entire team abundantly for their time, generosity, and their steadfast commitment to serving the Ummah through this essential work. Their endeavours are a true testament to community service and provide a shining example for us all.Inspired by this visit, we are more determined than ever in our own endeavours to secure a similar facility for our local community. We have witnessed first-hand how a well-managed cemetery can provide dignified and Shariah-compliant burial services, offering immense comfort to bereaved families during their most difficult times. We humbly request the continued support and prayers of the community across Leicestershire and beyond. With the help of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala), and by His will, we pray that our efforts are blessed and that we may, Insha’Allah, realise this vision for our community.Ameen.
